Learn by doing for hands on learners

This hands on geography course, map based, was created for students who struggle or needed an independent opportunity to earn their credit. The majority of the package is based on the students completing the package to demonstrate their learning rather than borrowing their answers. The emphasis on map skills and becoming familiar with geographic concepts, map interpretation, and drawing conclusions based on their work was the focus.
I invented TLC +2 to encourage students to include the title, legend and colour on their diagrams and to add conclusions (like a caption) to show me what they learned for marking. The completion of each of the units was then calculated to determine if they had demonstrated enough of the credit for either a credit recovery or a full credit based on the completion.

We used the Perspectives textbook, but you could use whatever textbook and internet resources you have to complete this package. Each page is printable and can also be used individually you could provide an entire package depending on your learner.
The first unit helps to show the students how the teacher would like to use the course. A number of other teachers have also successfully used this resource for their students due to ease of use.
If you are just starting out the collection of maps can be helpful and provide emergency lessons.
